The inspiration I got from the 《Sugar control Revolution》

How to scientifically balance blood sugar without dieting and giving up the foods we love? Perhaps you'll find the answer in the 《Sugar control Revolution》

1/ The importance of sugar control

If our body were an airplane, glucose would be the joystick in the cockpit, the key to smooth flight.

Blood sugar imbalance, corresponding to the plane will be bumpy, concussion, severe cases will yaw out of control, or even crash.

Blood sugar is the amount of glucose in the blood.

Glucose is not only found in the blood, it permeates all parts of the body and affects almost every system in the body, as well as our mood, hunger, sleep, weight, skin, and more.

Once blood sugar is controlled, various health problems of the human body will be solved.

2/ Sources and mechanisms of glucose

In the book, the authors explain the source of glucose formation by looking at how "geophagous animals" produce glucose introduction.

Hundreds of years ago, people thought that plants were "geophagous" because they took root and sprouted in the soil, but experiments eventually proved that they were not.

The reason why plant seeds take root and germinate and grow is because water and carbon dioxide in the air, under the sun, through photosynthesis, and produce glucose, which supplies the plant with energy.

But for people, they don't photosynthesize, so how do you get glucose?

And that's through food. For example, pasta contains starch, which is converted into glucose.

Or take fruit. Contains not only glucose, but also fructose and sucrose. Glucose can be directly absorbed by the body, while sucrose needs to be broken down (half fructose, half glucose);

Second, glucose is the fuel your body needs, but fructose is not.

This has been very helpful to me.

Personally, I like to eat fruit very much, and in the past, I felt that it was OK to eat more fruit, so I ate it completely.

But in fact, the fruit of the 21st century, after several generations of cultivation, has less fiber and more sugar, which is why the fruit is sweeter now.

More sugar means more fructose, which is the main cause of obesity because it easily turns into fat when digested.

3/ The importance of fiber

Fiber is an important nutrient for the human body. Although it cannot be turned back into glucose, it plays a very important role in helping digestion, maintaining healthy intestinal movement, and maintaining microbial health.

Because the presence of fiber makes it difficult to preserve food for a long time, the various snack processed foods we see in the supermarket remove fiber.

The main ingredients of these processed foods are starch and sugar, and in order to increase the taste of food, people in the process of processing, but also increase the sweetness.

This is also one of the reasons why eating snacks is more likely to induce obesity, simply put, too much sugar

The 《Sugar Control Revolution》 made me rethink the impact of "food" on human health.
In the past, I may have just known that snacking is bad for you, but I didn't know why.

I also know that fructose turns into fat; Excess glucose also turns sugar into fat and so on.
and I  also know the fiber can't be converted, processed foods need to be stripped of fiber, and so on.

so i think 《Sugar Control Revolution》 is worth reading for the sake of your health.
