After the age of 30, the body seems to become "uncooperative". Even though one doesn't eat much and has tried exercising, the weight just doesn't budge. Just by eating a little more, the number on the scale goes up the next day.
What's even more distressing is that despite not staying up late, one still feels tired upon waking up, as if they had only had a false sleep.
This double burden of fatigue and weight stagnation has become a major source of stress for many people.
The method I'm sharing today might help you make a breakthrough - just a simple cup of astragalus tea.
The preparation method of a cup of astragalus water
The ingredients are quite simple:
- 5 grams of Astragalus tablets (about 10 tablets),
- 2 unpeeled red dates,
- 400 milliliters of warm water at around 40 degrees Celsius.
The procedure is divided into two steps:
- The night before, put astragalus and dates into a thermos cup, add warm water and let them soak;
- in the morning the next day, drink them on an empty stomach.
Case Analysis:
One of my clients, Ms. Lin, is 35 years old and stands at 160 cm in height. Her weight has remained at 134 pounds for a long time. She has tried dieting, but the weight would keep fluctuating once she returned to normal eating; she also attempted running, but always felt that her physical strength was insufficient.
What troubled her most was that despite having regular meals, she still felt listless all the time. She had to rely on coffee to keep going in the afternoon.
After adjusting her diet, she has been drinking astragalus water every morning and follows the following recipes:
- Breakfast: Oatmeal (30 grams) + 1 boiled egg + half an apple
- Lunch: Half a bowl of mixed grain rice + a plate of steamed fish + 1 small bowl of blanched spinach
- Dinner: 1 bowl of pumpkin and millet porridge + 5 steamed shrimp with tofu
Three months later, her weight dropped to 117 pounds. The most noticeable change was that she no longer felt excessively sleepy during the day, and her endurance during exercise also improved. Over the past six months, my weight has remained stable at around 99 pounds.
Special reminder: Who is not suitable?!
Although the level of astragalus is not high, two types of people should be cautious:
- People who often feel dry mouth and hot palms and soles of the feet
- Women during special periods (such as during pregnancy)
If you feel a dry throat or have trouble sleeping after drinking it, reduce the dosage of astragalus to 3 grams, or drink it every other day.
Weight management is never about fighting against food; instead, it's about learning to sense the body's reactions.
Rather than getting obsessed with the numbers on the scale, it's better to focus more on whether you feel refreshed and satisfied every day.
After all, the method that you can stick to for a long time is the one that truly belongs to you.
