In the previous article "Not Resisting Aging, but Slowing Down the Pace",【Click here to read the previous article】I mentioned:
"What can truly delay aging is not the dramatic short-term changes, but those good habits that are integrated into daily life and can be maintained throughout one's life."
Many friends left comments saying they strongly agreed and also mentioned some exercises they had tried but found difficult to sustain - the gym was too far away, the tennis racket was gathering dust in the corner, and swimming was often abandoned due to the hassle of changing clothes.
These experiences have further convinced me that effective anti-aging habits should not be a burden on life, but rather a sustainable "long-termism" that is easy to maintain.
Just like compound interest, you may not see the difference in a day or a month, but after several years, you will thank yourself for starting to act today.
I stick to morning jogging and yoga precisely because they are simple, can be done anytime, and do not rely on specific venues or equipment.
The most important thing is that these habits have already brought me benefits:
- Since I started running, I haven't caught a cold for a long time;
- while the benefits of yoga are not immediately obvious, I believe that it is quietly nourishing my body, waiting for the right moment to manifest.
On top of these basic habits, I gradually added other small actions to make them a natural part of my life, like brushing teeth and washing face.
These habits that don't take up time and don't require tools can be accomplished by one person alone - such habits can truly accompany us through the years.
Here are several small habits that I have personally tested and found effective, and that I am still continuously practicing and sharing with you:
1、Daily Naps: A Gentle Pause for the Body and Mind
I take a nap for about half an hour every day, which is very effective in relieving fatigue and maintaining energy.
According to traditional Chinese medicine, taking a short nap at noon is very beneficial for nourishing the heart. One can remain energetic throughout the afternoon and even into the evening.
The duration doesn't need to be strict. Some people can feel refreshed after 15 minutes, but it should not exceed 1 hour. If the duration is too long, it will lead to poor mental state and cause insomnia at night.
Nowadays, the concept of taking a midday nap has gained widespread attention -
many school desks have been quietly replaced with reclining folding chairs, so that students can have a comfortable nap during the lunch break, thereby improving their learning efficiency in the afternoon.
Recently, I saw a very intuitive video. In an office, a simple folding chair can be flattened and instantly transformed into a nap pod, which is very ingenious.

2、Soaking feet before sleep: Warming yourself from the feet
This is a habit that many people overlook but is extremely important.
The Huangdi Neijing , (also known as The Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon), is a foundational classic of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
records that soaking feet in hot water before sleep can guide the blood downward, relieve cerebral congestion, help with sleep, and at the same time promote metabolism and improve circulation, making the skin more elastic.
Especially in winter, many women have cold hands and feet. Soaking feet before sleep can help dispel cold and warm the body.
Some people also recommend sleeping with soft cotton socks on, which is also a good method for warming and maintaining health.
3、Regular Hair Brushing: A Handy "Head Massage"
I never paid much attention to brushing my hair before.
It wasn't until I learned that it is also one of the traditional beauty practices.
Now, I often gently brush my hair with a wooden comb or an ox horn comb during my makeup routine or during breaks at work.
This not only promotes blood circulation in the scalp and helps relax, but it is also said to have the effects of assisting in regulating blood pressure and refreshing the mind. Simple yet worth persisting in.
Frequent brushing: Brushing your hair can delay aging and improve insomnia and dreams. Brushing your hair will get better blood circulation to your scalp and tighten your skin.

4、Persist in sun protection: The cornerstone of anti-aging
Long-term exposure to the sun can accelerate skin sagging and dullness.
Good sun protection is the most fundamental and crucial step in skincare.
Originally, I didn't pay much attention to it. But later, as I gradually understood the significant impact of sun protection on women's skin care and anti-aging, I became quite shocked.
Moreover, some reports even stated that not only should one apply sunscreen when going out, but it's not exclusive to summer. It should be done all year round, even at home.
So now, I bind the sunscreen with my daily skincare routine and it has become a daily must-do task.
After forming this habit, I no longer need to deliberately remember.
The desire to be beautiful cannot be ignored.
