<The Power of the Present>: If you are unable to take action or escape the predicament, then please surrender deeply and immerse yourself even more deeply in the present moment and the primordial consciousness.
Submission is a purely internal phenomenon. It does not mean that you do not take action or make changes in your external environment.
Deep within the dense pine forests of Florida, an economics doctoral student was meditating in his self-built wooden house when suddenly he was seized by some transcendent force. This was not a scene from religious scriptures, but a real turning point in the life of Mike Singer, the author of "The Surrender Experiment".
This meditator, who later became the CEO of a listed company and a best-selling author, lived out a seemingly contradictory survival experiment for forty years: by completely giving up control over life, he unexpectedly received astonishing gifts from life.
Submission is not passive compromise; rather, it is allowing the self to dissolve into the flow of life. That is, trusting the wisdom of life itself over one's limited cognition, integrating individual will into the larger rhythm of existence, just like a surfer dancing with the waves.
For instance, when you are stuck in a quagmire, when you are in the quagmire, you won't say: "OK, I give in, I'll just let myself get stuck in the quagmire." Allowing things to unfold is not submission.
Tory also mentions surrender in <The Power of Now>. He states that true surrender means fully understanding that one should break free from the mire and fully focus one's attention on the present moment, without attaching any psychological labels to it. In this way, critical, resistant, and negative emotions towards the present moment cannot arise.
Accept the reality of the present, then take action, and do one's best to break free from the mire. This kind of power is far superior to negative behaviors such as anger, despair, and frustration.
In a state of surrender, a brand new energy will be infused into what you do, reconnecting you with the source of the entity's energy. When action is connected to the entity, it will become a celebration of your life energy, and will lead you deeper into the present moment.
Surrendering does not directly change reality; it changes you. When you are changed, your entire world also changes, because the world is merely a reflection of your inner self.
When you enter the timeless state of the entity, sometimes you don't need to do much. Changes will quietly occur in unexpected ways. Life will assist you and work in tandem with you. Those inner obstacles, such as fear, guilt, and inertia, will also disappear in the light of your entity consciousness.
Even in the most extreme circumstances, you might feel that it's impossible to accept the present situation, but you still have two chances to surrender.
- Firstly, it is to submit to reality and accept that it cannot be changed because it has already occurred. Then, depending on the situation, do what you must do. When you accept reality, pain and negativity have nowhere to hide.
- Secondly, it is to submit to your inner self. Even if you cannot accept the external circumstances, you should still accept your inner feelings. Do not resist pain; allow it to exist. Submit to sadness, despair, fear, loneliness or any form of pain. Observe it and embrace it without attaching any labels to your emotions.
At this moment, the miracle of submission occurred, transforming the deep pain into profound tranquility. This is your tribulation, yet it is also your rebirth and elevation.
When you learn to surrender, you grasp the power of the present, which is also the power of the essence. At this moment, do you have something that you should do but haven't done? If so, start doing it now.
Or, you can fully accept your current state of negativity, laziness or passivity, if that is your choice. Please fully enjoy it, and try to be as lazy as possible. If you fully enter this state and become conscious, you will soon be able to break free from it.
No matter which choice you make, your inner self will no longer experience conflict or resistance, but only peace and harmony. And this is the source of inner strength.
