Luo Zhenyu: For a young person with nothing, the best way to gain influence is to offer order to the world.

1、A genuine hobby must be output-oriented.

This reminds me of that saying: "One must focus on learning how to make money, rather than how to study". Do you think they have the same meaning?

Luo Zhenyu, The host of the self-media video talk show "Luo Jiushiyan"

Luo Zhenyu asked the young people, "What are your hobbies?" Oh, hobbies include movies, cuisine, traveling, music...

  • You love music. How many pieces have you composed? How many music reviews have you written? Have you ever formed a band? Have you ever performed any shows? - This is what is called having a passion for music.
  • Have a passion for movies. Have you ever made a film? Have you participated in any film festivals? Have you written film reviews? Have you made multiple comparisons in both horizontal and vertical directions?
  • Like playing games. Have you ever written a guide?
  • Love making money, love money. Have you ever run an online store?

All those things that you input into your body - that's not called a hobby.

It's the output that is called a hobby. Output is a habit. It is not something done for the sake of applause or flowers. This is part of your personality. ……

Please remember: We are all young people without power, without money, without experience, and without resources. We are people with nothing.

If you want to have influence in the world, the simplest way is to output order to the world in a certain rhythm.

Because only when you output something does it indicate that you have conducted in-depth study and thinking. Otherwise, you cannot produce anything.

And without sufficient fondness, you cannot invest time and energy, nor can you learn or think.

Without sufficient investment, you cannot have high-quality output.

That is to say: To judge whether someone truly loves something, you just need to see how much time they spend on it. And they should be able to express something substantial about this thing.

In the era of self-media, "even the smallest individual has their own brand". The only way for this brand to influence others is to constantly output, constantly speak out, and constantly use its own rhythm to convey its own melody to the world.

This process is the process of constantly demonstrating your value to the outside world.

Until one day, when someone around you suddenly has a certain need, they would say, "Huh? Let me ask that person over there. He must know!" If there's any problem, others can think of you as the first person to come to mind. At this point, when you say "So and so is my hobby", you won't feel the slightest discomfort! This is the kind of thing that can truly be called a "hobby".

2、Output is the best strategy to force input.

A friend who was self-taught in programming told me that he had studied a lot, read a lot, listened to a lot, and put in a lot of effort, but the results were not significant.

Later, he changed his strategy. He set up a QQ group and also posted questions on forums and various websites specifically for "novices" and "experts".

As a result, in order to answer clearly, he had to thoroughly understand every basic concept and detail, and even had to look up materials to fill in the gaps.

Sure enough, a year later, he not only became a forum guru, but his technical skills also advanced by leaps and bounds, and he successfully transferred to a big company!

At the same time, he was also doing a side job online, specifically guiding others on how to transform from a programming "novice" to a programming "expert".

One ability, two incomes!

When a person becomes strong, they can influence others. To become strong, one must have strengthening materials. These materials need to be continuously input into the body.

However, people are not machines. This continuous process requires a strong willpower, and very few people can persist in it. Why? In the end, it is because the one-sided input will cause boredom, which eventually turns into a sense of meaninglessness, and then they give up.

Because:

First, without verifying the output against the input results, it's difficult to determine whether one's learning has achieved any effect.

Constant input can give rise to a false sense of accomplishment, making one believe that the knowledge has been mastered and that one has understood it.

However, when it comes to actual application, one will be confused and find that the knowledge is useless. Output is the only way to break this self-deception.

Second, without feedback, it's hard to persist.

For instance, if you post on Weibo for one month but the total number of likes and comments is less than three, you will generally give up.

Humans are always social animals. Even those who enjoy solitude need feedback from the outside world.

Because the brain needs appropriate new information stimulation to remain young and healthy. Without feedback, it's very likely that we will not be able to persist.

So:

  • Input is consumption, output is creation;
  • Input is the mindset of working for a job, output is the mindset of entrepreneurship;
  • Input is just learning, but the output can leverage resources.

Under this model, time will generate a "compound interest effect".

Every valuable output (articles, videos, audio, code, portfolios, courses) is accumulating your "digital assets".

The value they bring to you is sustainable.

In an era of information overload, screening and input are important, but the ability to internalize knowledge and transform it into external value is a truly scarce resource and a breakthrough point.

Forming the habit of outputting is like placing a sturdy lever beneath the fulcrum of life.

It won't make you rich overnight, but it can continuously, steadily and exponentially amplify your efforts, talents and influence, ultimately unlocking those goals and life states that were once seemingly out of reach.
