Buffett said: To become rich and successful, read 500 pages every day.

Warren E. Buffett,Because of his success in investment, Buffett is known as the "Oracle of Omaha", and he is currently the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. 

The latest data from 2025 shows that the market value of Berkshire Hathaway has exceeded 900 billion US dollars. At the age of 92, Buffett still maintains a daily reading habit of five hours.

In the documentary "Becoming Warren Buffett", his study is filled with newspapers, financial reports and business histories - these piles of papers constitute the cognitive moat that he has built up, which is his ultimate weapon to navigate through the economic cycles over the past six decades.

He said:

  • --“Reading is the most lucrative business in the world”.
  • --“The accumulation of wealth is a gradual process that requires time and perseverance”.
  • --“I just read and read and read,I probably read 5 to 6 hours a day.
    I don't read as fast now as when l was younger,but I read five daily newspapers,
    I read a fair number of magazines, I read 10 KI read annual reports, and I read a lot of other things too".
  • --"I've always enjoyed reading".
  • -"I have a special fondness for biographies. They enable me to experience diverse lives. I can learn about their glories, setbacks and lessons. You can understand their entire lives from them. That's why I never get tired of reading books". 

88% of the wealthy people spend at least 30 minutes reading every day, mainly focusing on self-study and self-improvement-related reading materials. Most people do not read for entertainment purposes, but the wealthy read to acquire knowledge.
